【Announcement】Our Project Has Been Selected for the KDDI Foundation Grant Programs 2026

We are pleased to announce that Lumanai Samoa has been selected for the Grant Program 2026 by the KDDI Foundation.

This grant will support the implementation of the project, “STEAM Education Promotion Project to Build the Future of Children in Samoa.” 

In Samoa, the limited number of industries has long restricted career options, and improving the quality of science and mathematics education remains an ongoing challenge.

With this grant, we will conduct programming and STEAM workshops using LEGO Education kits on both Upolu and Savai‘i islands.

We will also work closely with local educational institutions to develop curricula and provide teacher training to ensure that this initiative does not end as a one-time donation of materials. Our goal is to establish ICT‑enhanced learning as a sustainable and self‑driven practice within Samoan schools.

Through this project, we encourage children to develop an interest in technology and experience the joy of learning. Our team is committed to making this vision a reality.

About the KDDI Foundation’s Grant Program

The KDDI Foundation is an organisation dedicated to “solving global issues through dissemination and development of information and communication technologies (ICT).”

The grant we received—Social and Cultural Activities Grant—supports initiatives that promote international mutual understanding, multicultural coexistence, and development in emerging countries. Our efforts to address educational disparities in developing regions through ICT were highly valued in the selection process.

With this generous support, our team will continue working to empower Samoan children to shape their own “lumanai” (future).
